Parrots do not actually talk, but mimic sounds by controlling airflow through their throats. Practically all species of parrot are able to do so, but some are much better at others when it comes to imitating human speech. A parrot’s ability to talk also depends on whether or not it is strongly bonded to humans and on how comfortable or safe it feels in a given situation.
