Yes, Africanized honey bees are known colloquially as “killer bees” because of their aggressive behavior. Small swarms of these killer bees are capable of taking over European honey bee hives by invading the hive and establishing their own queen after killing the European queen. They are more likely to attack a perceived threat than the European bees and they also attack relentlessly in larger numbers.
