Is direct deposit good for the environment?

Yes, direct deposit is good for the environment.  Direct deposit obviously cuts down on the production of paper and ink.  Also, I believe it increases the will in a person to save more and spend less.  When people hold large amounts of money in their hand it is more tempting to make unnecessary purchases.  Furthermore, the extra pollution attributed to someone driving their car to a bank is ruled out by direct deposit.
