Did Woodrow Wilson do anything significant for the environment?

He’s my favorite president! I was just wondering.

Woodrow Wilson appointed Franklin Knight Lane as the Secretary of the Interior when he became president.  Lane later had a hand in creating the National Park Service in 1916, which has protected our National Parks and kept them in pristine environmental condition.

Woodrow Wilson overaw the creation of America’s National Park Service in 1916 and spearheaded the Smith-Lever Act of 1914 which helped create extension programs  through land-grant universities to give out information on agriculture-related topics.

His anti-trust and labor laws also helped pave the way for today’s government to enforce environmental regulations to corporate America.
