Any physical exertion brings the airborne particulate of smoke into your lungs and should be avoided. You might consider a particulate mask.
“Unnecessary exposure to high levels of smoke from large fires should be avoided.”
It is not a good idea to perform any kind of physical activity when there is smoke in the air. Exercising requires an increased intake of air and heavy breathing draws more microscopic smoke particles into your respiratory system, causing health problems like bronchitis and runny nose. Smoke can also aggravate allergies, asthma, chronic heart and lung diseases, and burns your eyes.
