Is high-speed rail dangerous to birds?

Any moving vehicle is a danger to birds if they fly in front of the vehicle’s path. A high speed railway would not be dangerous directly to birds, there would be no sudden decrease in bird population if these railways were widely implemented. However, if a bird is neglectful enough to fly in front of one of these trains, there is no question that it would be in imminent danger.
