I know that burning propane is much cleaner than traditional gasoline, but is creating/ attaining propane bad for the environment (compared to gasoline)?
Propane is a byproduct of existing processes, so it’s not as environmentally impactful as drilling for petrol. It is also, as you said, a cleaner burning fuel than gasoline, releasing between 30-90% less carbon monoxide when used as a car fuel. The main downside of using propane is that it can be more expensive and time consuming, with more frequent maintenance intervals being necessary to keep a propane car running properly.
