Probably, however the question to follow would it be economically viable to make the Salton Sea water potable. There is plenty of water in to recycle or reclaim before having to take more from other places.
We can turn water from the Salton Sea, or any salt water into fresh water by using a process known as desalination. There are several ways to desalinate water, but the most common is to push the saltwater through a membrane, seperating the salt from the water. However, desalination is an expensive process (10 times the cost of awuifer waters).
