Could we ever use solar wind as a source of energy?

I once saw a documentary on space travel that proposed a solar sail (a gold foil parachute that would deploy in space— it could only work in outer space, where there is no resistance due to a lack of wind/ atmosphere) and it would provide some push for a space craft to get to say Jupiter without using a rocket. That force wouldn’t be very great at all, but apparently physicists determined the possiblility that solar wind could provide enough energy to push a craft along (and they said that the speed would just keep adding and adding as the sail collected more light – force)… it sounds pretty slow/ boring to me! Let’s focus our attention on what we can do here, now, to fix this planet (instead of thinking about ways to get off it already)!
