Could waste incineration be used to provide heat and energy?

Yes, waste incineration can be used as an energy resource.  Emission control technologies should be used as a safety measure against excessive pollution, but the practice is actually an environmentally-friendly way to convert waste to energy.  Studies have shown that incinerating plastics as well causes the temperatures to be hotter, and are therefore helpful in the practice.

Yes!  Biogas is a fuel made from exactly such a process.  People put their farm waste (plant scraps and manure) into giant “digesters,” where’s it’s converted to electricity and gas for gas stoves.
