Could stricter food safety legislation hurt small and organic farms?

It seems unlikely, depending on what laws are tightened, of course. The advantage of running a smaller operation is that it’s inherently more flexible. Commercial organic farms already have to follow all the same food safety procedures that conventional farms do, so change probably wouldn’t be any more difficult for them.
