Could global warming shift wind patterns enough to make existing wind farms unproductive?

Well, in theory, maybe—if somehow, by random luck, all the wind patterns were shifted away from the spots where we have built our wind farms, then yes.  But it’s not even remotely likely that that will happen. What is more likely is that global warming will intensify the already existing weather patterns, which would mean that winds would become stronger… the scary thing is though we could have more storms that could damage the turbines themselves with lightning or intense wind (that would be to strong for the machines to handle and they would come toppling down)… I don’t think we need to worry about this anytime soon, however, as our climate is not going to change that dramatically overnight. But good question and keep on thinking about this kind of thing!!
