Could the argument be made that the clean air act has saved lives?

    Yes. By preventing higher levels of pollution, in 2010 the Clean Air Act allegedly prevented 160,000 premature deaths. Since the Clean Air Act keeps pollution and toxic chemicals like mercury out of the air, many deaths due to cancer, lung disease and heart attacks have been avoided.
