It doesn’t have to be. Many successful businesses are following green practices that not only help sales but the environment. Although the philosophies sometimes conflict, they are not complete opposites — there is a happy medium.
I think if a business makes the conscious decision to run in a green manner, then these two ideologies are not necessarily opposed. A company can not only run efficiently and in the most environmentally friendly capacity possible, it can also choose to give money to environmental causes. Patagonia, a large company, is a model of these practices. This company gives a great deal of money to environmental causes and projects as well as operates in the greenest way possible.
