Yes, coconuts are sustainable resources. They are being used for a wide variety of natural food product right now; coconut water, milk, and oil are a few. Coconut tree leaves can be woven together to make fans, hats, mats, brooms, baskets, and thatched roofs for shelter. The ribs of the leaves can make arrows, spears, and cooking skewers. The wood from coconut trees can be used to build sustainabel housing; it can make floors, fences, and tables (Lund Food Holding Inc., 2011).
