There’s actually quite a bit of controversy surrounding this. Some say that coal ash is much more radioactive than nuclear waste, while others deny it.
It depends on what source you rely on to answer that questions. Some argue that one or the other is more radioactive than the other. My source concurs with henry’s response 😉
I suspect that the toxic constituents of coal ash are a greater concern than its radioactivity. EPA is wavering on this subject.
