As China starts to manufacture more renewable energy wont they be using a lot more coal in the process?

China currently relies on coal for the vast majority of its energy needs, and while the country is making huge strides to diversify with alternative fuels this process will indeed require more coal plants. For example, green cities planned for construction in China will be powered by wind farms. Because wind isn’t always blowing, and the current electrical grid isn’t able to handle the increasing load from wind power, dozens of coal plants are planned for these green cities alone.
