China is currently known for their gross environmental abuses in their ever growing manufacturing industry, but China has also been know in the last ten or twenty years for their ability to jump at new technology and grow it at speeds unmatched by the rest f the world. China is being recognized as sitting at the edge of the next industrial revolution, the “green revolution”. China in 2010 will overtake the US and become the largest market for wind turbines. Chinese manufacturers are making one third of all the solar cells in the world, six times more that US factories. A Chinese company is also launching the first mass produced electric car of the 21st century, and the new “clean coal” power stations that US power companies are using and advertising are coming from China.
