The presidents of the two countries have announced the creation of the U.S.-China Clean Energy Research Center. The jointly funded venture has, according to the White House website, as one of its stated purposes researching clean coal technology including carbon capture and storage, as well as clean vehicles and energy efficiency.
Julio Friedmann of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory has crafted a report on how collaboration between China and the US in the area of carbon capture could be implemented.
