Is the Chevy Volt and the Nissan Leaf that much more efficient than the Toyota Prius?

Yes. Although the Volt and Leaf have not officially released their MPG standards, they are expected to be much higher than the MPG standards of the Prius. The Volt estimates that it will get 230 MPG, but that is highly debated. The Leaf has estimated to be at 367 mpg, which is also debated. If either of the figures are anywhere near accurate, they will top the Prius, which has a 51 highway mpg rating.
