Is cellophane bad for the environment?

The actual product isn’t. Cellophane is made from regenerated cellulose and is 100% biodegradable. However, in the manufacturing process, viscose is used. This process has a by-product of the pollutant carbon disulfide. However, overall, cellophane is a decent packaging choice (since it is biodegradable.)
