There are a lot of ways to answer this question, I will try not to ramble. First of all I think that fishing practices are the biggest problem when it comes to this issue. Over fishing can have devastating affects as well as fishing equipment that can tangle other fish or mammals. The rate at which some people catch crab or lobster may be too fast for the populations to reproduce or even disturbing the waters that might be breeding grounds for other fish life can be harmful. There are a lot of contributing factors and I can say that catching either one has the same affect on the environment unless one happens to be more popular than the other.
