Yes! Cast Iron is possibly the most eco-friendly type of cookware. Cast iron is durable, well-made, often times produced in the United States, and does not have the dangerous teflon coating that non-stick pans have. When non-stick pans get are heated too high or scratched, the teflon releases carcinogenic particles into the food being cooked on the pan. This is not an issuewith cast iron pans. Lastly, cast iron pans have a permanent seasoning which means they become stick resistant with more uses.
