This is difficult question to answer because of the wide variety of materials that go into creating each of these items, as well as the many different types of models of wind turbines and solar panels there are. I would speculate that there is more of a carbon footprint in the production of a wind turbine, simply because of its sheer size. The bigger something is, the more energy it takes to gather the required materials, and the more labor is required to construct it.
I think it is important to note, however, that the real focus of carbon footprints of wind or solar energy, is the fact that eliminate such a footprint because they produce energy without having to burn fuels.
