Is Canada doing anything to save the moose and the gray wolf?

Canada actually has the largest wolf population in the world – there are over 50,000 wolves.  The population is considered stable, although wolves are heavily hunted.  Defenders of Wildlife is working to save wolves, mainly in southwestern Alberta where wolves are in frequent conflict with ranchers.  They want to stop wolves from attacking livestock, as well as find nonlethal ways of handling wolves.

According to Northern Lights Wildlife, the government tends to side with industry over wolves, as the hunting of wolves could be important for the economy.
