It is not recommended. Fish do not have a strong tolerance to change and may not be able to deal with the elevation changes. With that said, some airlines within the US do have various pet rules, some including fish. US Airways is one of the most pet friendly airlines and mentions fish in their policy. You will need to notify the airline of your extra ‘passenger’ and will most likely pay a pet fee (around 85$). You may also want to inquire about the liquids rule…If you are not willing to spend that much on your fish, shipping it to your location is the next best option. Pet stores do this hundreds of times a day through UPS or FEDex.
