Sodium chloride (NaCl), or “table salt” as we know it, is a major component of the mixture that is sea water. It can be found at most grocery stores as “sea salt,” and is said to have different flavors depending upon where it was extracted. It is made by evaporating sea water with a heat source or other method, then collecting the crystalized salt the forms once all the water has vaprized. You could theortically do this in your own kitchen with your favorite stew pot and a hot stove. HOWEVER, due to possible contaminates in your local sea water source, this is NOT RECOMENDED.
