Can you have a orangutan as a house pet in Virginia?

Virginia does not have any regulations about non-human primates (though local municipalities might). It is against federal law to import a non-human primate into the country, it would have to be a domestically bred orangutan. I am not sure that these really exist outside of scientific and educational facilities. They are not recommended as pets. They are not domesticated animals and can become violent.
