Can you get a good job with a bachelors only in forest service?

A: Yes you can. There are many positions within the USFS that are available to either Bachelor’s degree holders, or even current students. These include forestry technicians (trail crews), front country rangers, hand-line fire crews, fire engine technicians and biologists/researchers. It is preferred if a hiree is studying/has studied a discipline related to the field of the position, but not required. All USFS jobs are subject to the GS-pay scale, which is contingent on number of years worked, number of years of related professional experience and/or number of years spent studying or attaining a degree in a related discipline.
