Can you get better gas mileage if you use the higher octane gasoline?

No. First of all, most cars are designed to run on the regular octane gasoline so putting higher octane gasoline will do nothing in terms of mileage. If your mileage does increase it probably means that something is wrong with your engine since the only cars that use higher octane gas are ones with engines that don’t react well to regular octane gas (due to problems with the engine).
