A quick Google search reveals that multiple sources on the Internet claim that some types of mosses (and some parts of mosses) are edible by humans. I’d research the particular moss before you put it in your mouth. Based on other research and experience, there are actually many wild plants that are edible by humans, but they’re almost never eaten, simply because they’re not deemed tasty and/or they’re not efficient to cultivate agriculturally.
This website has a list of edible plants. It lists reindeer moss and iceland moss as edible.
