The amount of electrical energy that can be converted from the harnessed kinetic energy of wind is dependent on the velocity of the wind in a given area, which is, of course, beyond the user’s control. The formula is as follows: the total power generated from wind is the product of (the density of air) times (the diameter of the blade) squared times (the wind velocity) cubed, times a constant. The exponents in that equation show that wind velocity is the most major factor in the amount of power produced.
