Can you clone trees?

Yup. In most cases, pollen from male trees fertilize female trees, producing seeds that will then contain the genetic makeup from both parents. However, to clone a tree, you simply use the genes of a single plant. Cloning trees isn’t even a highly technological process–apparently foresters have been doing it for years. It involves taking a branch from the parent tree and grafting it onto another tree’s roots or inducing it to sprout its own roots. The results are offspring which are essentially clones of the parent.
