Can you charge a Nissan Leaf at work?

Yes, as long as your work gives you access to a wall outlet. With this said, from a standard wall outlet, it can take up to 16 hours to charge the car. The ideal outlet would be a 220 volt hookup, like ones for dryers, so that the car can charge in under 8 hours.

My friend tells me that there are some places out here in Los Angeles (like Trader Joe’s)  that have installed electric car chargers in the parking lots.  Ask where you work (especially if you work somewhere that deals with the public, like a grocery store or a bank or something similar) if they could install chargers in the parking lot.

It would be great PR for the company, plus your car gets charged!
