Can wind turbines be used to power street lights?

I don’t see why not.  Perhaps on highway and large roads, they could even put a turbine on top of the lights themselves. Each light could generate itself in thory. Another good method for powering street lamps is solar power.  A relatively small solar panel can provide enough energy to run street lamps or lights at bus stops.  This might be a more managable method to renewably power street lamps, rather than having wind turbines.  Another option would be to place larger wind turbines along the highway to generate enough energy for a long string of lamps….that would be pretty cool.
