Yes! A company called Sundrop Fuels is using solar energy to convert biomass to synthesized gasoline. A solar furnace heats biomass in the absence of air so it turns to hydrogen and carbon monoxide rather than burn. These gases are then turned into gasoline and diesel fuels.
