Nuclear waste can be reused. 96 percent of the spent fuel rods can be used to create more energy. There are a few problems that with recycling. One is that it is very expensive to do. Also, it creates weapon grade plutonium that has the potential to be hijacked by terrorists. One benefit is that it would allow humans to reduce the environmentally damage of mining for new uranium.
