Can we realistically make biofuels out of trash?

    Some biofuels can be made from decomposing trash.  Landfills are often buried and venting holes are bored in to collect methane and CO2.  This gas can be combined with natural gas to run combustion turbines or used in fuel cell technology to create electricity.
