The cash for clunkers program took old energy inefficient cars off the road, to be replaced with cars with better miles per gallon and less carbon emissions. It can be said there is a notion of environment conservation in the program. However, the stimulus received by the failing car dealerships is supporting a major problem for climate change. There is not much learned from the cash for clunkers program because people get upset when fewer cars are sold because huge corporations are loosing money. It is not understood that fewer cars on the road means less toxins in our lungs and nature is respected.
