Can we have higher levels of methane in the atmosphere than we can carbon?

Absolutely not! CO2 is the most commonly emitted for of greenhouse gas pollution, but it is relativly inefficient when it comes to trapping heat in the atmosphere, thus creating warmer temperatures. Methane gas is the worst of the major GHGs, trapping twenty times the heat of Carbon dioxide. If methane levels continue to climb, they will have disastrous effects on the Earth’s climate.
