Can we grow infinitely (economically or otherwise) with the limited perception of finite resources?

I do not believe this is possible with resources that are completely finite. Once resources are used up, growth will necessarily slow down. However, if new uses are discovered for old resources (such as steam power during the Industrial Revolution) it could potentially prolong the amount of growth until no other ways to use old resources are found.

It’s all about being sustainable. If we use up all of our resources now, future generations will suffer. We would not be able to raise children due to lack of resources like water.
