Can we get the ocean to absorb more carbon than it is right now?

Grow algae and other photosynthetic lifeforms that lock up carbon themselves while giving up oxygen (so that’s not really the ocean locking it up) And keep other pollutants out of the ocean, so there is space for the CO2 to be absorbed. Also we could probably capture the gas from the atmosphere and then diffuse some into the ocean by sinking it down a pipeline (but this might screw things up, because the ocean should only have so much CO2 in it, just like the atmosphere—therefore it’d be better to lock it up in a solid form—like in a growing tree!)
