Can we do anything to make coal plants better for the environment?

    no unless we suck all the coal out of the staches

    I’d say the only way we could make them better is to stop using them all together.
    Besides, we’d get more diamonds in a couple million years.

    A technology called the integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) shows promise for making coal plants less damaging to the environment. The integrated gasification combined cycle gasifies coal before it is burned which allows the plant to achieve lower SOx, NOx and particulate emissions. Further environmental advantages may be achieved by addressing the emissions of carbon dioxide by using oxygen instead of air in the coal gasifier. By doing this carbon dioxide is emitted as a concentrated gas stream at high pressure and can be captured more easily.
