Can trees damage the foundation of a building if planted close to the structure?

Yes, and this could be a huge problem for not only the foundation. When a tree is just a young sapling, it seems cute to place it next to a home, but the tree will be there for years and years to come, and when a tree grows, so do the roots! The roots can do a lot of potential damage to a foundation or any structure near the roots. We have all seen the bubbly sidewalks and these are caused from tree roots becoming too large and cracking the concrete that is in the way! Figure out a good place to place a tree that you can enjoy for years to come!
