Can toads predict earthquakes?

It has not been proven, but there is evidence to support this claim. In 2009, a colony of toads left their home a few days before an earthquake hit L’Aguila, Italy. Ten days after the quake, they came back. Biologist Dr. Rachel Grant made this observation while she was studying toads in Italy. She happened to be at the right place at the right time because it is extremely difficult to plan this kind of observation, given that humans do not know when an earthquake will hit.
