Can ticks breed off of humans?

Ticks simply need a warm-blooded host to feed on in order to reproduce, so yes, humans can become a host to tick  reproduction. Ticks find a host by clinging onto passing mammals who happen to brush by the bushy area they are hiding in. To avoid this, cover up with clothing during tick season, and check you and your animal for ticks before entering the house. Keeping vegetation growth at bay around your house will help deter the pests as well.
