Yes and no. In the short term it would require large amounts of investment in new technologies as well as continued research to improve the efficiency of things like wind farms and hydro-plants. This would obviously increase our national debt. However, in the long term, energy costs would be reduced and our dependence on foreign fossil fuels would also be drastically reduced. Additionally, construction and operation jobs would be created by investing in new, renewable sources of energy reducing our country’s abysmal unemployment rate.
