No, for the simple reason that the world hasn’t yet developed a sustainable means of storing nuclear waste. Improperly storing nuclear waste could lead to nuclear spillage and the degradation of entire ecosystems.
It might be for a short period of time, but adopting nuclear as a means to solves the world’s energy woes would be short-sighted since it’s a finite resource. After we run out of nuclear fuel, it would be even more expensive to transition to other means of electricity production.
It’s also hazardous to public health and could be weaponized. Plus, as misskika noted, we don’t have any means of storage for nuclear waste.
