Can owls turn their heads more than any other animal or is it an optical illusion?

Owls actually have 14 vertebrae in their neck which allows their head to turn 180 degrees both ways. Most other animals do not have this, but the swan actually have 25 vertebrae and can turn their necks almost 360 degrees and even sleep and groom with their heads at 180 degrees! This is all compared to people, who have 7 in the neck.
