In theory yes, but biofuels are only a transitional alternative between oil and new energy vehicles (hydogen fuel cell, electric, magnetic, etc). Biodiesel is a finite resource, like oil, all that matters in the end is long term sustainability which can only come from renewable fuels. Biofuels/biodiesel are more renewable than gasoline, but still not as efficient as an electric car being recharged off a solar/renewable energy grid.
